  • Australia is the world’s 6th largest country by area
  • Australia is one of the seven continents
  • The name “Australia” came from a latin word “Australis” which is a definition for southern
  • Australia has over 750 different reptile species which is more than any other country in the world!
  • Australia has four large cities those four large cities are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide
  • Australia has population of over 22 million people
  • The highest mountain in the mainland of Australia is Mt Kosciuszko
  • It is now know that the estimated humans have lived in Australia for about 45000 years
  • Australia is home to many unique and different animals. E.g: Koala, Kangaroo, Platypus, Emu and Kookaburra
  • Australia has hosted the 1956 summer olympics for Melbourne and 2000 for Sydney
